10 Apples up on Top!

First off, I want to thank you all for making the time to come in and chat with me about your child's progress so far in Kindergarten.  It was great to hear about the progress that you have seen from your child.  They are a wonderful bunch and I know we are on track for a fantastic year!
This past week we finished up out study of apples.  In math and science this week we sorted and graphed apples by their different attributes.  We even saw how many "apples" (beanbags) we could balance on our heads and graphed the results.
On Friday we made homemade applesauce.  It was so much fun!  Each kiddo got to peel their own apple to put in the pot!
We also painted the year of the apple tree.  We have learned about the life cycle of the apple tree and what it looks like each season.
Here are some pictures of us enjoying our applesauce.
It smelled so good throughout the day.
It tasted so warm and cinnamon-y!

This coming week we will start our study of pumpkins.  We will compare the life cycle of an apple to that of a pumpkin.  We will add the word "see" to our word wall.  We will also be working on our math assessments for our report cards.
