Wonderful Water

Welcome Back! I really enjoyed reading all about what your Spring Break Adventures today. Lots of fun outside activities took place last week.

This week we will be learning about water. Today we had the opportunity to investigate the different proprieties of water. We discovered that water is clear, it is liquid, it take the shape of the container that it is in, and that it is wet. In math we are reviewing time and money. We are working hard to get all of our assessments completed for our 3rd nine weeks report card. These will come home next Thursday, March 25.

We will be reviewing our word wall words. Today we had a fun time seeing how many word wall words we could use to build sentences.

It was a great day back!

EGGS!!

This week we have been busy busy bees. We learned about Oviparous animals (animals that hatch from eggs). We added the word "they to the word wall, and we have been working on fractions, time and money in math.

Here are some pictures of our cool science experiment.

How strong is an egg?
Today we learned! An egg can hold up 42 books before the shells breaks. WOW!! That is a lot of weight! We used our muscles and tried to pick up 27 books and it was very hard. An egg is stronger than us!

Here are the eggs after 42 booksWe made some great predictions! Here they are.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to stop by Open House last night. It was great to see all of you and to see your children so excited to share what they have been learning with you. I hope that you have a wonderful and safe Spring Break! See you on March 21.

Farm Frenzy!

We have been having so much fun learning all about the farm. We have made a fun farm web and have been learning how to research farm animals. Here we are working farm animal puzzles. We predicted what animal the puzzle would make by looking at the parts represented on each piece.

We have made some awesome farm books and list for our Open House barns.

In math we have been working hard on recognizing coin and telling how much they are worth. We are also learning to tell time. These are very fun topics in kindergarten. Practice them at home.

This week we added the word wall word "said" to the wall. We also talked about using quotation marks. Look for this word and quotation marks in books while you are reading this week.

Please mark your calendar for our Open House. It will take place next Thursday evening, March 10. This is a great opportunity to come to school and see all of your child's awesome work.
